claude

it was just like another winter afternoon ... no work at office... casually i was browsing through a photography site called pbase, and suddenly i got stuck infront a photograph... i was moved by the composition of that photograph... nothing complicated, but simple... one lady in pink saree was stepping down from konark temple... i wrote a comment on that photograph... and guess what, i got a reply from the photographer... his name is Claude Renault...a middle-aged french photographer in love with India...

... it was a story 2.5 years back ... i am lucky to be close with him... i learned a lot from him about photography...tips and techniques... and everything... my photographic journey started by his inspiration... i have seen him closely... i have seen his passion for India, his love for the people of India...

besides a great photographer, he is a great human being too...it is nice to have him within us...

I have a doubt that who is better, the photographer Claude or Claude as a human being. He has a great passion for India and knows India better than 80% of Indians. Like Sandip, he is also my first inspiration.

... quite true for a many of us, it seems!

Claude is a very nice person, there is a lot to learn from his shots, never complicated and over the top, yet rich with aesthetic value.
... a true inspiration for me, when it comes to photography.

The two books containing works of Henri Cartier Bresson and Robert Doisneau, are invaluable gifts from him. I started to think about the subject right then onwards.
